Thai oil massage in Wonthaggi and Bass Coast

Ask about a Thai oil massage around Wonthaggi, Inverloch and Bass Coast. An independent therapist confirms time, price and suitability before booking.

A Thai oil massage combines some of the pressure techniques of traditional Thai massage with long, gliding strokes using massage oil. It is usually given on a massage table rather than a floor mat, with you undressed to your comfort level and covered with towels, so that only the area being worked on is uncovered. There are fewer assisted stretches than in a traditional session. People often choose it when they want to wind down and prefer a softer, slower massage.

This website handles enquiries only. A therapist working on their own account reads your request and replies to agree timing and cost; nothing is locked in until you accept. More on how the service works.

Some therapists offer a combined session that moves from stretches to oil work. Ask what they offer when they reply.

Oils and skin

Therapists use a range of carrier oils, sometimes with added scent. Tell the therapist if you have a nut allergy, sensitive skin, eczema, a rash, sunburn or broken skin, and ask what oil they use. After a beach day on the Bass Coast it is worth mentioning any sunburn, since firm strokes over burnt skin hurt and the therapist will likely avoid those patches. You can ask for an unscented oil. Some people prefer to shower after the session, so allow time for that if you are heading out.

Pressure and comfort

Oil massage is generally lighter than a traditional Thai session, but pressure can still be firm on the back and shoulders if you ask for it. Tell the therapist during the massage if you want more or less pressure, or if you are cold. Your privacy is maintained with towels throughout. This is a strictly professional, non-sexual massage.

Health details to mention

Oil work involves long strokes over the legs and back, so varicose veins, diabetes, blood thinners and recent operations are worth raising early, along with pregnancy and skin problems. The therapist may adapt the massage. See the checklist in the visitor guide, and speak to your doctor if you are uncertain. A relaxation massage is not a substitute for medical care.
